According to records, the Jalisco avocado sector maintains commercial openness with more than 30 countries, to which the US will now join. In a statement, the agency indicated that Villalobos participated in a work meeting attended by representatives of the federal and state governments with producers from Jalisco, with the aim of initiating activities to comply with the Operational Work Plan (PTO) for the export of avocado to the US market.

The official pointed out that currently, Mexico provides almost 30% of the avocado consumed in the world “and there is the possibility of increasing production capacity and opening more markets, for which he urged farmers to protect the quality, health and safety of the fruit”.
