Morning Kiss Organic to offer 3 imported pear varieties

Morning Kiss Organic says it will work with partners in Argentina to offer packham, d’anjou and bartlett organic pear varieties this import season, which runs March through June.

The brand said in a news release that it is currently sourcing bartlett pears from Argentina, a country it says meets the highest food safety standards and also social compliance standards, which ensure that grower partners exceed the organic standards in taking care of their communities and the environment.

“We are looking forward to pear season and partnering with Argentine growers,” Nelly Czajkowski of Morning Kiss Organic said in the release. “Pears are popular among all demographics, and we expect good volume this season with plenty of opportunities for promotions for our retail partners.”

Morning Kiss Organic is offering a 2-pound pear bag — packed as 12/2 pounds or 18/2 pounds — that is ideal for families and provides value with a less expensive price per piece, according to the release. Pears are also obtainable in full-size cartons or half-cartons, with the option to have an organic band around each piece of fruit to ensure retailers get the organic sale at check out. Private-label options are available.

Pears are an excellent source of fiber, vitamin C and antioxidants, and they make a perfect lunchbox snack or a sweet addition to salads and desserts, Morning Kiss Organic says. Ripe pears smell fragrant and are soft to the touch near the stem.

The organic pears will be packed fresh to order. Morning Kiss Organic employs just-in-time inventory management, reducing loss to product spoilage at retail and therefore protecting the retailer’s bottom line, according to the release.

Chelsea, Mass.-based Morning Kiss Organic is the organic brand of Gold Bell, DiSilva Fruit and Arrowfarms.
