Peruvian blueberry exports to the U.S. grew by 31% in volume last season

Last season 53.9 percent of total Peruvian blueberry exports went to the U.S., reflecting a growth of 31 percent in volume, according to Blueberries Consulting.

The analysis and statistics prepared by the global business developer and international sales manager, Eder Rios, illustrate the good footing on which the Peruvian blueberry industry is located.

The analyst presents a list with the 30 main importing companies of this national fruit from the U.S. market in 2022, noting that last season blueberry exports to the U.S. were more than 149,000 tons, for an FOB value of $715.8 million.

The list, made with updated data from the official customs institution in Peru, Sunat, shows that half of the companies increased their demand, and only a third of the importers decreased their purchases.

In 2022, the Peruvian blueberry industry exported 292,584 tons of fresh blueberries to international markets, which meant an increase of 34 percent compared to what was exported by Peru in 2021.
