Sun Belle Inc., Schiller Park, Ill., continues to build on its proprietary berry varieties, said Janice Honigberg, president and founder.

They include large, sweet conventional and organic Malu raspberries, which peak from December through February, and Amelali and Aketzali blackberries, available through June.

The company’s Peru blueberry program is winding down, but its Mexico blueberries should be plentiful in December and will peak January through March. Its jumbo Boom Berries, which Honigberg said are an “explosion of flavor” and highly promotable, also are available from Mexico.
