Overview of strawberry prices in the US market, complemented by charts from Agronometrics. Original published on November 02, 2021.
Torrential rains in the Salinas/Watsonville area of California, limited Mexican supply and a delay to the start of the Southern California strawberry area have tightened up the strawberry market.
Industry observers estimate that prices are up almost 50 percent (to $17, with potential to reach $30 within the month) compared to last week.
According to observers, strawberry prices are likely to remain volatile until the Southern California crops reach the market.
